Privacy Policy
AmazeSpec is published by AMAZE INITIATIVE LIMITED ("we", "us"), a company registered in New Zealand. This policy explains what personal information we receive through the AmazeSpec app and this website, and what we do with it, under the Privacy Act 2020.
1. The short version
We don't receive your projects. AmazeSpec has no account and does not connect to any server of ours. Your projects, the details of your clients and the documents you produce stay on your device, or wherever you choose to save a copy. We have no access to them.
2. What we don't receive
- Your projects, specifications and exports.
- Information you enter about clients, consultants, contractors or sites.
- Your review records, your acceptance of our terms, and the record of exports made with items still open. These stay with your projects, on your device.
- Your name, email address or payment details from the App Store.
3. What we do receive
- Purchase and subscription reports. Apple processes every purchase. Apple gives developers sales and subscription reports, which do not include your name, email address or card details.
- Crash reports and app statistics, if you agree. If you have chosen in your device settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple passes us crash reports and usage statistics in the form Apple decides. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.
- What you send us. Emails to our support address, and anything you attach to them.
4. Connections the app makes to other websites
AmazeSpec connects to other websites only when you ask it to:
- when you open a link to a document or a manufacturer's page;
- when you export a specification with the list of manufacturers' documents. The app then fetches each cited document from its publisher's address, to check whether it is the copy that was read. The fetched copies are deleted when the export ends.
These requests go from your device straight to the publisher's website, not through us. Like any internet request, they carry technical information such as your IP address, and the publisher's own privacy practices apply to them. We do not see them.
5. This website
This website sets no cookies, and uses no advertising, tracking or analytics tools. It is served by Cloudflare, which processes the technical information needed to deliver a web page, such as IP addresses, under its own privacy policy.
6. Why we use what we receive, and for how long
We use what we receive only to provide, support and improve AmazeSpec, to answer you, and to meet our legal obligations.
- Support emails: kept for up to two years after our last exchange, unless we need them longer for a legal claim.
- Purchase and subscription reports: kept for as long as New Zealand tax law requires.
- Crash reports and statistics: kept for as long as Apple makes them available to us.
7. Who else processes it
Apple (purchases, subscription reports, crash reports and statistics you agreed to share, and our email, through iCloud Mail), and Cloudflare (this website). Both may process information outside New Zealand. We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
8. Information about other people in your projects
If you enter personal information about other people into a project, it stays with you, on your device, and we never receive it. You are responsible for being entitled to hold it and for how you use it.
9. Children
AmazeSpec is professional software for the building industry. It is not directed at children.
10. Your rights
You can ask to see, or to correct, the personal information we hold about you by writing to our Privacy Officer at [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with its date.
